About Professor Hsiung
Pao-Ann Hsiung received his B.S. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1991 and 1996, respectively. From 1996 to 2000, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taipei. Since February 2001 he has been at the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chung Cheng University (CCU), where he became a full professor in August 2007, and was appointed Distinguished Professor in January 2026.
He has served as Division Chief of Information Management (2008–2011), Department Chair (2011–2016), Dean of International Affairs (2016–2017), Director General of the Intelligence Technology Department at Chiayi City Government (2018), and Chief Information & Technology Officer at CCU (2022–2024). He currently serves as Dean of the College of Engineering (since February 2026), Director of the Research Center on AI and Sustainable Development, and Director of the Taiwan–India Joint Research Center on AI at IIT Ropar and CCU.
Dr. Hsiung has published more than 340 papers in top international journals and conferences, served on the editorial boards of several leading journals, and participated in the program committees of over 400 international conferences. He holds an Honorary Professorship at Amity University, India and is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at KIET Group of Institutions, India.
