System-Theoretic Codesign Framework for Communication
Layers of Network-of-Workstations

Abstract
This paper presents a novel system-theoretic codesign framework for the
communication layer of network-of-workstations(NOW) that has great potential
of performance improvement. It is composed of several independently usable
tools that are based on the same system-theoretic formalism. Using
model-reuse, separated modeling of target system and experimental frame,
the framework succinctly supports model continuity and makes system
simulation greatly easy. Most of all, a real prototype system can be
obtained directly from verified system specification. We step through an
example design to show the essential parts of the framework.
